Engineered to handle two brushed DC motors simultaneously, Sabertooth can supply 12A continuous per channel and up to 25A peak for a few seconds. This makes it ideal for robots up to 30 lbs in combat use or 100 lbs in general-purpose robotics. Its regenerative capability returns unused power to the battery, improving overall efficiency and runtime.
The driver supports multiple input modes—Analog, R/C, Simplified Serial, and Packetized Serial—allowing seamless integration with a wide range of control systems. Independent or combined speed + direction modes make it perfect for differential drive (tank-style) robots, remote-controlled platforms, and experimental robotics.
With its ultra-sonic switching frequency, the Sabertooth ensures quiet motor operation, while thermal and overcurrent protection safeguards against damage from stalls or oversized motors. A dedicated Lithium protection mode prevents over-discharging of Li-based batteries, extending their lifespan.
