Description

This 57mm closed-loop stepper motor kit pairs a two-phase encoder-equipped motor with the 2HSS57-A-5/24 driver for pulse-controlled positioning applications.

Choose between 2.0 Nm and 2.8 Nm holding torque configurations. Both motors feature an 8mm output shaft, while their body lengths and rated currents differ. Encoder feedback enables the driver to monitor motor position during operation.

Designed for integration into CNC axes, linear stages and compact automation equipment, the kit requires a compatible pulse/direction controller and an external 24–60V DC power supply.

FAQ

What is the difference between the 2.0 Nm and 2.8 Nm versions?

The 2.0 Nm motor has a 96mm body length and a rated current of 5.0A. The 2.8 Nm motor has a 120mm body length and a rated current of 4.0A. Both use an 8mm diameter, 21mm long output shaft.

Does this stepper motor kit include an encoder?

Yes. Each motor has an encoder for position feedback to the matched closed-loop driver.

What power supply does the driver require?

The driver accepts 24–60V DC. Choose a power supply with adequate current capacity for the complete system. The driver supply voltage is not a fixed motor winding voltage.

Can I use this kit with a CNC controller?

The driver accepts pulse, direction and enable signals with 5–24V signal compatibility. Check your controller’s output type and follow the driver wiring instructions before connection.

Does closed-loop control guarantee that the motor cannot lose position?

No. Encoder feedback allows the driver to monitor position error, but excessive load, incorrect settings or unsuitable acceleration can still prevent the motor from following the command.

Is holding torque the same as running torque?

No. Holding torque describes the motor’s ability to resist rotation at standstill. Available running torque depends on speed, supply voltage, driver settings and load conditions.

Can this driver connect directly to household AC power?

No. This 2HSS57-A-5/24 driver requires a 24–60V DC supply. Do not connect it directly to household AC mains.
