Overview
The Intel RealSense Depth Camera D555 is a PoE-enabled depth camera designed for 3D computer vision over Ethernet. It introduces a Power over Ethernet (PoE) interface on chip and is powered by the RealSense Vision SoC V5, paired with the RealSense Module D450.
Key Features
- PoE over Ethernet: 3D computer vision-powered over Ethernet with RJ45 PoE connector.
- Global shutter stereo depth: Stereoscopic depth technology with global shutter image sensor technology.
- IP65-rated enclosure: Dust tight and protected from projected water.
- Built-in IMU: Vision SoC V5 coupled with the D450 optical module with a built-in inertial measurement unit.
- Native ROS support: Powered by SafeDDS, an ISO 26262-certified DDS implementation; interoperable with Fast DDS and designed for ROS 2 network streaming over Ethernet without requiring additional installation.
- Ethernet infrastructure friendly: Seamless integration with existing Ethernet infrastructure; supports reliable industrial Ethernet connection over cables up to 100 meters; supports multi-camera setups with low latency.
- Vision SoC V5 processing: Includes stereo disparity processing, motion estimation, a vision DSP optimized for computer vision, and ISP IPU7 with Geometric Distortion Correction (GDC) and Temporal Noise Reduction (TNR).
- SDK integration: Supported by RealSense SDK 2.0 using Data Distribution Service (DDS), enabling ease of integration and backward compatibility with the RealSense product family.
